Michael Garcia
I've been writing Star Trek fiction for the past twenty-one years, ever since I was hooked on the original series by my mother, and experienced the Next Generation and beyond. I prefer to write stories that don't have any of the featured characters in them because I feel like they don't belong to me. But the Trek universe is fair game.
My favorite Star Trek series is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
In addition to writing Star Trek, I also dabble in some original science-fiction with military and political elements. I watch an unhealthy amount of television (though I've put that on hold until the WGA strike is settled) and movies. I read any sci-fi novels I can get my hands on and I have a predilection for fanfics of any show I like (Trek, SG-1, Atlantis, Firefly, West Wing, etc).
I enjoy participating in writing communities and offering critiques of pieces that my fellow writers put in front of me. I offer my services to anyone with an open mind. I like helping others a great deal. |

Michael Garcia Ships of the Fleet: Anthology
Star Trek: Full Speed Ahead #1: Damn the Torpedoes! Newly-promoted Captain Krystine Leone is appointed to command the recently-refitted Nebula-class starship USS Farragut, after only fifteen years of excellent service to Starfleet. Her arrival at the Antares Ship Yards is met by friends she's made throughout her career, and of course, she is excited by the prospect of her first command. While she enjoys the festivities of assuming command, two strangers work feverishly within the ship's navigational deflector room toward some unknown purpose. As they ready the ship for warp speed trials, the ship finds itself going on a journey deep into the final frontier!
